TRANSITION
2 Aug - 29 Sept 2024, Solo Exhibition, The Art Centre Warburton, Warburton Hwy, Warburton VIC
Transition is an exhibition of abstract artworks by mixed media artist Yasmine Joy Fauzee. It explores the concept of transition through the use of colour adjustment and repetition as represented in plants, terrain, and the mindscape.
Her work explores the interplay of colour, line, and space. Calligraphic elements pervade her paintings, drawings and digital sculptures, inviting contemplation of light, shadow, and the ever-present movement of life.
The viewer is invited to reflect on transition as it occurs in all its forms. Rather than embrace the transient and changeable nature of the world, there is frequently a sense that things should remain the same. The more we appreciate transition is as natural as the breath of life, the greater our appreciation is of life as precious, fragile and ever changing.

TRANSCENDENCE
9 Sept – 21 Oct 2023, Solo Exhibition, Burrinja Gallery, Wurundjeri Country, Upwey VIC
As never before in our history the connection between humanity and the Earth has reached an impasse - we rest upon a precipice. To overt environmental disaster humanity must acknowledge its spiritual interdependency with the Earth and all species. This exhibition explores the essence of this shift - a ‘transcendence', an awakening, to enable healing of our selves, our planet and safeguard all living things. Transcendence is dedicated to my father Mohamed Fauzee (1934 – 2021).

"Shapeshifters explores the creative ability of the artist to redefine themselves, transgress their chosen medium, look into the future and transcend multidimensionally the world around them in utterly unique ways. Exploring concepts of form, function, sacred geometry, symmetry, pattern, multiple dimensions and colour intrinsically connected to themes of pattern, architecture, minimalism and mathematics. Shapeshifters considers abstraction as an aesthetic strategy to unearth a wealth of individual approaches and disciplines and the curated works themselves will shift through the exhibition."

SENTINELS
21 May - 18 June 2022, Solo Exhibition, Burrinja Gallery - Wurundjeri Country, Upwey, VIC
The Sentinels Series is dedicated to my father Mohamed Fauzee (1934 – 2021) who encouraged and inspired my art and who instilled within me an appreciation of Nature.
During times of adversity, during times of need, we seek beyond our own selves - we look to the horizon and beyond. We take refuge in wild places. This body of work explores Sentinels around us. Those we may sense but not see. These are watchful and ancient, they dwell within mountains, forests, and the depths of the ocean. The exhibition is composed of three series: Mountains, Forests and Oceans. The works are created with acrylic paint, chalk, and pastel on canvas.

TERRAIN
12 - 21 May 2021, Solo Exhibition, George Paton Gallery, The University of Melbourne, Wurundjeri Country, VIC
The terrains of land and the mind are in constant flux creating, diminishing, and recreating. In this exhibition there are challenging terrains, quiet places to rest, and places with hidden meaning.
Landscapes featured are mountainous sentinels, stars in the cosmos and the human city. Mindscapes explore the shifts which occur when we venture into the unknown. The works in Terrain feature white chalk against a solid painted background. There is a calligraphic sensibility - the meaning left for the viewer to interpret.
